The daughters of a former NBA All-Star have denounced St. John's for inducting their father into the school's athletics hall of fame because of accusations of neglect in their lives.

St. John's should be ashamed of Tryumph because he was in the class during the weekend, according to open letters written by him and his brother.

Williams was sentenced to more than a year in prison for the accidental shotgun death of his driver.

The sisters accused Williams of neglect and emotional and verbal abuse, as well as failing to provide adequate financial support.

Williams accused her sister of being locked in a trash chute by Williams. Tryumph accused St. John's of using money to honor a man.

I don't understand why you're being honored and inducted into the hall of fame when I've always had to work hard in order to survive. She wrote that St. John's University should be embarrassed.

The student at the Fashion Institute of Technology named her father a deadbeat and accused him of being an alcoholic.

Requests for comment from St. John's and Williams were not returned.

Williams didn't check the weapon's safety mechanism before he snapped the gun open and killed Christofi. Williams stripped off his clothes and jumped into his pool after placing the weapon in the chauffeur's hands. Williams' lawyers said that the shooting was an accident and that he panicked.

Williams is going to be part of a seven-person class at St. John's.
