Apple’s lead hardware designer Evans Hankey is leaving

Mark Gurman reported that the person in charge of the physical look and feel for Apple's products is leaving the company. Hankey will stay with Apple for another six months. After Jony Ive left to start his own design firm, Hankey took over hardware design.

There has been no public announcement of a replacement for Hankey. According to a statement from an Apple spokesman, the senior design team has strong leaders with decades of experience, and that she was leaving. Evans will stay on as we work through the transition and we would like to thank her for her leadership.
