The Swiss snowboarder made an agreement with his wife before he left for Beijing. He would have to get a tattoo if he won a medal in Beijing, something he hadn't done before.
"If I end up in the top three, I won't care about anything anyways, so I said yes," he said in the video.
After earning a bronze medal in the halfpipe, he made good on his promise to his wife. Any self-respecting partner would take full advantage of that part of the bet.
A tattoo depicting a snowboarder wearing an Olympic-themed sweater and a party hat with a banner that reads "Good but not the best" was sketched out by the artist. It's possible to frame this in the Louvre.
