According to sources, the Detroit Pistons have placed assistant general manager Rob Murphy on leave while they investigate an allegation of workplace malfeasance.

According to sources, Murphy has been out of the Pistons' offices for a week since management was made aware of the allegation.

Murphy was promoted to assistant GM in June after he started as the franchise's G League president and general manager. He was the head coach at Eastern Michigan for 10 years before retiring.

After four years as a high school coach in Detroit, Murphy went on to work as an assistant at Kent State and Syracuse.
