The manager of Villa has been fired.
Shortly after Villa's sixth defeat in 11 games, the club's decision was made.
In a statement released after the match, the club confirmed that head coach Steven Gerrard had left the club.
A club spokesman thanked Steven and wished him well for the future.
He lasted less than a year at Villa Park after replacing Dean Smith, becoming the fourth top-flight manager to lose his job this season.

It was another bad day for the Villars. They were hovering above the bottom of the table on goals scored after a poor performance and result against Cottager. The head coach left Villa just 90 minutes after the final whistle. With his team having lost five of their first 10 games this season, the feeling was that this was a must-win game for the manager.

The chants of 'Steven Gerrard, get out of our club' sent a clear and damning message to the Villa board, as the travelling fans booed at half-time and full-time.
