  • According to a Russian defense advisor, Russia uses Iranian-made drones.

  • He didn't realize he was on air when he made the comments.

  • Iran and Russia deny that Tehran's suicide drones are inUkraine.

The advisor to Russia's defense ministry was caught on a hot mic saying that Moscow had used suicide drones from Iran to attack Ukrainian cities.

Ruslan Pukhov joined the Russian Business Channel for an interview. Pukhov walks on stage and takes a seat after he is introduced by the host.

Russia has been using Iranian-made suicide drones even if the Kremlin isn't acknowledging it, even if Pukhov doesn't know that the show is on.

Pukhov said that he wouldn't want to rock the boat so let's go easy on drones. We all have an asshole, but we don't use the word. The government has not admitted to the fact that the drones are from Iran.

Despite accusations and evidence presented by Western governments and intelligence agencies, Moscow and Tehran have denied the use of Iranian-made suicide drones in the Ukrainian conflict.

Russian troops have intensified attacks on Ukrainian cities far from the battlefield in the last few weeks using the Shahed-136 model of suicide drones. The Shahed-136 is one of the drones that Russian forces have deployed.

The US has signaled that it could impose sanctions on Iran, and the foreign ministry of Ukraine said Wednesday that it has been able to down over 200 Shahed-136 drones.

US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the United States began warning in July that Iran was planning to transfer drones to Russia for use in the war against Ukraine.

He said that they are committed to working with allies and partners to prevent the transfer of dangerous weaponry to Russia.

Price said that they would not hesitate to use their sanctions on all involved in the transfers. "We will increase our security assistance toUkraine, including air defense capabilities, so that it can defend itself from these weapons."
