  • Google has announced the global rollout of its My Ad Center.
  • The new ad control hub gives users direct control over how Google displays ads to them based on their data.
  • Google has also launched new advertiser pages to increase transparency about the ads it serves to users.

The ad control hub was announced at the I/O 2022 developer conference. The purpose of "My Ad Center" is to give users direct control over how their data is used by the company.

With the new hub, you can choose from a variety of topics that interest you, which will make the ads you see on the platforms more relevant to you. The Ad Center can be accessed with a tap on the three-dot menu. You can control your ad preferences from there.

The information it needs to personalize these ads comes from web and app activity. Control over which type of ads are served to you is given by the latest feature. Ad personalization can be disabled completely, but this will lead to less relevant ads.

Alcohol, dating, gambling, pregnancy and parenting, and weight loss are some of the topics that can be seen fewer ads on. You were only able to control ads on YouTube and display. Search and Discover is going to be expanded by the search engine. You have the option of blocking all sensitive ads entirely.

Your ad preferences apply to the ads you see. Businesses that use the tools to advertise on other sites will rely on your choices as well.

Advertiser pages have been added by the search engine to provide more transparency. These disclosures can be found in the My Ad Center panel, where you can see ads from verified advertisers that have been running for 30 days or more.
