The Ritz-Carlton Yacht collection was announced several years ago. Marriott entered the cruising industry. Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points when cruising with the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, which is just a branding and marketing partnership.
The first ship in the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is called Evrima and it is a 198-meter ship with 149 accommodations. Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection promises a high-end experience, both in terms of the size of the ship, and in terms of what is included and the quality of service. One of the highest staff and space ratios at sea is promised by the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.
There are two more ships in the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. There are expected to be up to 454 passengers on the ships. They are expected to join the fleet in the next two decades.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will have larger ships in the future. You can't pretend that something is a yachting-style experience anymore. I wouldn't call the new ships "yachts" because they are approaching the size of the Carnival ships I remember as a kid.
The launch of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection was delayed many times.
The delay was due to major issues with the construction of the ship, which took much longer than anticipated, and ended up going over budget. The timing at least worked out if you are going to have a delay with a new cruise ship.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will get two larger ships in the years to come. I wish the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection had more interesting voyages.
