Kevin Hart announced that J.P. Morgan would be investing in Hartbeat. He made the announcement along with J.P. Morgan's head of digital investment banking and digital private markets.

Hartbeat is an early-stage VC firm with a focus on lifestyle, media and technology. Some of the new fund will be used to support minority andunderrepresented founders.

There is a learning curve when it comes to investing, Hart said.

Hart had to learn why investing was a good idea. Investing was attached to the space of a con. You are trying to steal from me. I don't think you're trustworthy. My challenge was to not give anyone my money so they could run off and do what they wanted. The biggest learning curve for me was figuring out that the investment has a timetable attached to it and that I should invest today and not tomorrow.

Kevin Hart and Robert Roman are going to talk about "The Art of Inclusivity" at a conference in San Francisco. The image was created by Haje Kamps.

It is important to be confident when investing in the world of growth. It is important to learn how the economy works and how to make your money work for you in order to understand his biggest challenge.

He said that he trusts his team to do what is best for the firm and that he has aligned himself with people who have done well.

The Kevin Hart machine that Kevin Hart stands in front of is not a Kevin Hart machine. The table is not a piece of furniture. We come up with the best ideas when we sit at this table. Over the years, that has been something I have excelled at. I know how to align myself with people who have done it right.

The investment from J.P. Morgan marks the max allocation that the company has provided through its initiative that invests proprietary capital into diverse and women led ventures.

Project spark was created a couple years ago to find a way to give diverse funds capital and first-time fund managers. Over the last few years, we have put $90 million into 23 funds that have raised over $900 million of capital. We just closed and J.P. Morgan is the first investor in the new fund and we are very excited for the things that we can do together.

Roman wouldn't say how much he invested into Hartbeat.

BrightFox, Ready Player Me, sustainable bottled water brand Path, massage therapy device Therabody, sustainable packaging brand Cleancut, car leasing platform Rodo, and social food ordering platform Snackpass have all been invested by Hartbeat.
