The '00s are here again.

A feature is being worked on that will allow users to add a song to their profile.

The developer and leaker said that the feature is currently being trialed by the social network. The website did not hear back immediately after reaching out to the social media site.

The feature would appear in your profile at the bottom of your bio. The developer added Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" to his profile in order to demonstrate how this would work.

This feature sounds familiar to me. It is similar to a feature from the mid '00s.

During the height of its popularity between 2005 and 2008, users were able to add songs to their profiles.

It was a big deal for anyone that was a teen or twenty-something in the '00s. The ability to publicly express yourself through a song choice felt new at the time.

The pressure to pick the perfect song caused a lot of crises. Is this band too mainstream when it comes to choosing a song? Is the aesthetic projected through this song. If I put this song in my profile, will my crush like it?

The ability to add songs to profiles didn't die when the site became less popular. Prospective matches can peruse a dater's pics while a song of their choice plays, if they add songs to their profile on Raya.

It's not certain that this feature will be made public. It might never see the light of day as it is being tested right now. This old teenager hopes it does.
