Jones said, "Don't mess with me." Wickersham said, "Jones said, 'Don't mess with me.'

31 owners showed their support for the competition committee opening negotiations on a new contract for the league's leader. Jones was the only one who didn't like it.

Jones was not in agreement with the other owners on what the structure of the next contract should be.

Jones was involved in the restructuring of the five-year deal that was for performance-based bonuses. The commissioner's contract used to be mostly paid by the government.

A league source said that Jones wants accountability on the financial goals tied to Roger's bonus. Roger is going to get a big bonus before he earns it.
