Mike Verdu, the company's VP of games, said at the conference that the company is seriously considering its own platform. The company jumped into gaming in a big way last year with its mobile games lineup and is looking to use its expertise in streaming data to allow people to play games over the cloud.

Verdu said that they are looking at a cloud gaming offering so that they can reach members on TVs and PCs. We will approach this the same way we did with mobile, starting small, being thoughtful, and then building out. We think it's a good idea to meet members where they are on their devices.

The company revealed it has 55 more games in the works. Stadia failed to gain traction despite its immense technical know-how on streaming and will be shutting down.

Verdu argued that cloud gaming would be a "value add" to the business model of the company. He said that it is a completely different business model than console replacements. Over time, the hope is that it will become a natural way to play games. According to Verdu, a new gaming studio is opening in California led by Chacko Sonny, who was an executive producer on the hit show.
