A Cleveland municipal judge was removed from the bench by the Ohio Supreme Court for wearing tank tops and spandex shorts in court and lying.

Judge Pinkey S. Carr agreed to have her mental and physical health evaluated.

Carr's bench was described as "resembling a flea market" by her lawyer. She wore a lot of clothes to court. She talked about a fictional strip club on a television show.

If defendants gave her food, beverages, carpeting or storage space, she would accept kickbacks. She referred to her lawyer as Miss Puddin.

The judge conducted court business in a way that resembled a game show host.

Carr was found to have violated a number of other rules.

  • When court activity was suspended, she failed to rescheduling her cases.

  • Arrest warrants were issued for defendants who did not show up for court.

  • One person was rewarded for beingbrave enough to come to court.

  • Hearings were conducted without the prosecutor present. How much can we get away with?

  • There are recommended pleas to be made to the unrepresented defendants.
