There will be a game on Black Friday in the fall of 2023.

The league and Amazon announced on Tuesday that Prime Video will be the exclusive streaming home for a game in November of 2023. There is an hour and a half later.

The teams are still to be decided for the first ever Black Friday game.

In August, John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal reported that the NFL was going to add a Friday game to the Thanksgiving week schedule.

According to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, the afternoon kick off is likely because the league can't show games in prime time on Friday nights.

Amazon became the exclusive streaming home for Thursday Night Football in March of 2021.

The first year of the deal is worth around $1 billion. Amazon was the first streaming service to get exclusive rights for football.

The league negotiated new rights deals at the same time it signed a contract with Amazon. Over the course of the contracts, they add up to more than $100 billion.

The Black Friday game will likely mean games on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday during Thanksgiving week.

During the 2020 season, the last game to be played on a Friday was on Christmas day. The Minnesota Vikings were defeated by the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
