There is a new dynamic ticketing startup that was founded with former New York Yankees all-star Alex Rodriguez.

When people leave midway through a game, the company will sell access to seats that can be used again. When better seats are available, fans are notified. Depending on demand in a reverse auction format, pricing starts high and goes down.

The co-owner of the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves has applied for a patent. He started looking into dynamic ticketing a long time ago.

All the seats are empty near the field or the arena. He said, "Why do they have people that don't let anyone go down?" No one is sitting there.

I wanted to know why it wasn't possible to make these seats available in real time so that people could jump to any new seat if they wanted to. Everyone from the top would descend because of the reverse auction.

It's called dynamic real-time ticketing. There are a lot of things you can do with that technology.

The company is an investor in the pending patents.

According to the CEO, Jump is still in hiding. The company was founded in August of 2011.
