After releasing the Windows 11 2022 Update with something new for everyone, Microsoft is now bringing even more features to its latest OS. There are tabs in File Explorer and suggestions to make it easier to call people.
Windows users have been waiting for tabs in File Explorer for a long time, and the feature includes a refreshed design that makes it easier to quickly access folders or find favorite files. The ability to move tabs around freely is included in the new file explorer design. Four years ago, Microsoft started testing tabs in Windows 10 apps. Microsoft canceled the project and never shipped the file explorer tabs.
There are suggested actions in Windows 11. If you copy dates or phone numbers, Windows 11 will prompt you to create a call with Teams, Skype, or Phone Link, and there is also quick access to calendaring.
The Task Manager shortcut is going to be back in Windows 11 today. When you have a lot of apps open on a small screen, Microsoft has added a new overflow area to make it a little cleaner. The sharing experience in Windows 11 is getting better with easy access to apps.
The Photos app for Windows 11 will be updated at the end of the month. There is a new gallery interface that brings back old pictures from the cloud. The Photos app will get an integration in November.
Today's optional non-security release of a Windows Update includes all of the latest features. If you check Windows Update on Windows 11 right now, you will be able to get features in the November security update.
