Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp
Klopp said he deserved his red card for the way he confronted the assistant referee

The Football Association charged the manager of the team after he was sent off during the game.

When a foul was not given for a challenge on Mo Salah, the referee's assistant berated him.

The incident came on a weekend where Merseyside Youth League games were postponed amid ongoing issues with referee abuse.

In his post match comments, he apologized.

I'm not proud of what happened. The German admitted that he deserved a red card.

The FA's rule E3 states that "comments which are improper, which bring the game into disrepute, which are threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting" are covered by the charge.

He will be allowed to take charge of the game against West Ham on Wednesday even though he has been charged.

He spoke calmly about how he felt the match unfolded after he saw the referee.

The whole game was to blame, he said. We didn't understand a lot of the decisions that were made in the game.

The one drop made the bucket overflow. Everybody saw it and I'm not happy with my reaction.
