It is Week 7 of the regular season in the National Football League.

The power panel evaluated how teams are stacking up through six weeks.

It has been difficult to forecast what will happen week to week. The power rankings show that. There are three New York teams in the top 10 after the Buffalo Bills beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

In addition to our updated rankings, we checked in with NFL Nation reporters across the league and asked them to name one thing that they got wrong about each team. Expectations that have been exceeded and expectations that have not been met are explored.

It's time to get to it.

1. Buffalo Bills (5-1)

Week 6 ranking: 2

Many thought the Buffalo Bills could be the best in the league, and they have shown why. Quarterback Josh Allen is playing at a high level, and Von Miller is playing at a high level as well. I don't think many people thought the Bills would keep winning. Safety Micah Hyde suffered a season-ending neck injury. The backups have mostly been up to the task, showing how well-rounded of a roster Brandon Beane has built.

2. Philadelphia Eagles (6-0)

Week 6 ranking: 3

I didn't think quarterback Jalen Hurts would improve in his second full season as the starter, but I did think he would be in the earlyMVP discussion. He has made improvements in the passing game. Through six games, he is ninth in completion percentage and 26th in 2014–2018. He is third in yards per try and has only committed two turnovers. The Eagles are perfect because of injuries.

3. Kansas City Chiefs (4-2)

Week 6 ranking: 1

Through five games the pass rush has 14 sacks. The Chiefs were 29th in the league with 31 sacks last season. Chris Jones is the only one who can improve the pass rush for the Chiefs. Three of the sacks from the down linemen are from Jones. Linebackers and defensive backs are the only ones with the other six.

If the Chiefs want to beat the Bills, they need a star receiver.

4. Minnesota Vikings (5-1)

Week 6 ranking: 4

After a unique summer driven by sports performance theories, there was skepticism that Kevin O'Connell would have the team ready for the season. There were only a few intense physical practices periods for key players, despite a schematic change. The Vikings were ready to open with a win and 21 of their 22 starting players have started. Harrison Smith missed a game because of a concussion.

5. New York Giants (5-1)

Week 6 ranking: 11

My projection was for the Giants to win six games. Are you blaming me? They had not won more than six games in any of the previous five seasons. All they have done so far is find a way to win, whether it's by going for two in the opener, shutting out Rodgers in the second half or getting their first pick of the season. The Giants are 23rd in both offense and defense. The team believes and finishes. In the second half of games, they've defeated their opponents 87 percent of the time.

6. Dallas Cowboys (4-2)

Week 6 ranking: 5

I didn't get any issues. The defense was supposed to be the strength. People thought the run game was bad. I didn't know they would win four games in a row without their quarterback. Cooper Rush deserved a lot of the credit for what he did. Someone wants him to be a backup for a long time. He kept the season going despite the doom and gloom caused by the broken thumb of the opener. The Cowboys are going into a bye week. The Cowboys will be in the thick of the playoffs if they play well.

7. Baltimore Ravens (3-3)

Week 6 ranking: 7

The Ravens were thought to have the best secondary in the league. The Baltimore defense gives up an average of 268.7 yards through the air. In the fourth quarter, the Ravens have given up 552 yards passing and six touchdown passes. The Baltimore Ravens have three first-round picks and a top free-agent signing in the secondary. Without Williams, it won't get any easier.

8. Los Angeles Chargers (4-2)

Week 6 ranking: 10

After ranking among the worst units in the league, it was thought that the Bolts defense would improve, thanks to the additions of new players. The Bolts are ranked among the league's worst defenses, allowing an average of 25.3 points a game. A lack of improvement and performance can't be blamed on the loss of Joey Bosa who was placed on injured reserve after undergoing groin surgery.

9. New York Jets (4-2)

Week 6 ranking: 16

The rookies are developing faster than anticipated. Cornerback Sauce Gardner and running back Breece Hall have made such an impact that they have to be considered for defensive and offensive rookies of the year. The quarterback has allowed only one reception in man coverage and eight pass breakups. With 609 yards from scrimmage, Hall is ninth in the league. Are you experiencing growing pains? It's not at all.

10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-3)

Week 6 ranking: 9

The team that won the Super Bowl in 2020 isn't the same one that put up 30 points in a game last year. "I feel like we're not a team that people think we are," right tackle Tristan Wirfs said. We have yet to do anything. We're.500. It's a bad thing. We are like that. The record is what you have. We have to be better They're scoring 20 points a game and only scoring one touchdown on half of their red zone drives. They scored touchdown on 64.4% of their red zone drives last year.

11. Los Angeles Rams (3-3)

Week 6 ranking: 13

The hope was that Allen Robinson II would step in and make a difference. Robinson is coming off his best game of the season for the Rams, but he has struggled to consistently connect with Matthew Stafford for much of the season. The Rams' offense took a step in the right direction on Sunday, but it remains to be seen if they can keep up the production against more difficult opponents.

12. San Francisco 49ers (3-3)

Week 6 ranking: 6

We thought the unit would improve after investing in resources. The 49ers spent a lot of money to strengthen their coverage units. Brian Schneider was hired to bring it all together. The results have been mixed as San Francisco still struggles on kick returns and has given up a lot of kick return yards. The unit has an expected points added of minus- 3.5 which is 21st in the league. It's not where the 49ers want it to be, but it's better than last year.

13. Cincinnati Bengals (3-3)

Week 6 ranking: 14

An improved offensive line didn't make an improvement in the offense. In spite of changing 80% of the starting five in the off-season, and with blocking rates slightly better, the Bengals still lag in a number of metrics. It could be attributed to a number of factors, including the emergency appendectomy of the quarterback. Cincinnati is still in the middle of the pack in expected yards per play, but a 30-26 win over the New Orleans Saints suggested that the unit could be going upwards.

14. Green Bay Packers (3-3)

Week 6 ranking: 8

If there was only one thing. The Packers have the lowest six-game point total in their history. Without Davante Adams, this was not expected. The defense, loaded with first-round picks and high-priced free agents, can't stop the run. The special teams that looked a lot better on Sunday had a field goal and a punt blocked. That's how an overwhelming division favorite can go from being great to mediocre in a short period of time.

15. New England Patriots (3-3)

Week 6 ranking: 19

The hesitance at the start of the season was that the offense would be a problem. The coaches have been helpful in getting Bailey Zappe up to speed. Zappe is 2-0 as a starter, and in just over 11 quarters he is 51-of- 70 for 596 yards, with four touchdown and one intercept.

16. Tennessee Titans (3-2)

Week 6 ranking: 15

26 of Ryan Tannehill's touchdown passes have gone to tight ends. Tannehill's willingness to get the tight ends involved seemed to make veteran free agent Austin Hooper a good fit. The chemistry was generated during training camp. Looking at the amount of time the two players spent together in practice, it appears that he was on his way to a productive season. That hasn't been true. He has only caught six passes for 55 yards and hasn't scored a touchdown.

17. Miami Dolphins (3-3)

Week 6 ranking: 12

There was a lot of skepticism about whether or not Tua Tagovailoa could lead the offense. He was second in passing yards through the first three weeks of the season. The Dolphins started the year with three wins. He's missed the past two and a half games and their offensive efficiency has plummeted; the Dolphins were ranked second in the league in expected points added in the first two weeks of the season. The team is better with Tagovailoa in charge.

play

Field Yates doesn't think Mike Gesicki is a reliable fantasy starter despite his performance in Week 6.

18. Seattle Seahawks (3-3)

Week 6 ranking: 20

Geno Smith was expected to be a big drop off from Wilson. Smith has been one of the biggest surprises of the season and better than his predecessor has been. Smith ranks fourth in Total QBR (68.5%), first in completion percentage (73.4%) and third in touchdown-to-Intercept ratio (9-2), despite a quiet performance in Week 6 He has been a game manager as well. Smith had to carry the Seahawks to their first two victories because of the defense's inability to stop the run.

19. Atlanta Falcons (3-3)

Week 6 ranking: 24

They were supposed to be bad. The 3-3 record through six games is better than most could have predicted. Atlanta has been able to run on any opponent it has faced with a number of backs. The defense has been able to create pressure. The cohesion of the entire roster, combined with a division void of a dominant team, should have Atlanta in the playoffs for a long time.

20. Indianapolis Colts (3-2-1)

Week 6 ranking: 25

It has been said that the Indianapolis Colts' young group of wide receiver and tight ends were the biggest concern. The offensive line has struggled and undermined the entire offense. Each of the past three games the Colts have used different offensive line combinations. The line's best showing of the season so far was in Sunday's win over the Jacksonville Jags. The rookies are starting to shine at the receiver and tight end positions. Consistency is the next step.

21. New Orleans Saints (2-4)

Week 6 ranking: 17

Despite an overhauled secondary, it was assumed that the Saints defense would pick up where it left off. They no longer have the vaunted run defense that they used to have, and they have only one pick-six as a team. The defense has made some key mistakes this year, including missed tackles, but the offense still gets the attention.

This week, everything you need.
