Google introduces a revamped Family Link app along with a web version

There are three tabs for highlights, controls, and location in the refreshed Family Link app. A web version of Family Link was launched.

Family Link is a tool that allows parents to monitor and limit screen time for their children. Children's devices can be locked at a certain time. The "always allowed" app for learning was added to the parental control platform.

A three-tabbed design provides an overview of defined limits for children and an easy way to change them. The highlights tab shows a summary of a child's device usage including today's usage time, recently installed app, and the most used app, as well as the controls tab to set limits on screentime and app usage. There's a central place to view all notifications and requests from children.

The most used tools have been brought to the forefront with the new redesign of Family Link. Wendi Rieb said in a post that parents will find their favorite features in an all-new experience and a central place for viewing requests and notifications.

The controls tab has a new feature called "Today's limit" which allows parents to set a different screen time limit. When the family is on vacation, this can be useful. It is not possible to allow a certain app for a day.

All children's location is shown on a single screen. The option to ring their devices is shown. A new feature will send a notification to parents when their child arrives at a specified location. When the location-sharing feature is turned on, there are notifications for arrival and departure.

There is a web version of Family Link where parents can access their controls. The solution was only available through the company's apps.

Apple updated its parental control tools with the latest version of its operating system. The Quick Start feature was introduced to set up screentime restrictions for children in a few steps and the interface was simplified to address screentime requests from kids.

Kids-specific features on the search giant's TV service include parent-controlled watchlists and suggestions from the internet.
