The lawmaker and conspiracy theorist appeared to put House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on notice during an interview with The New York Times. The GOP is expected to take control of the House after the elections.

She insisted that what she said wasn't a threat.

They are going to be very unhappy if he doesn't. That is the best way to look at that. That isn't a threat at all I don't think that's true.

McCarthy was said to be offering to create a new leadership position in order to get her support.

A person for McCarthy denied that an offer had been made.

"I don't need to have a leadership position," he said. I don't think I have one yet.
