There's one thing Kevin McCarthy can do to keep the GOP happy if he becomes House Speaker, according to a far-right Georgia lawmaker.

McCarthy should get used to her aggressive approach to going after the Democrats if Republicans take control of Congress in 2022, according to an interview with The Times.

To be the best speaker of the House and to please the base, he's going to give me a lot of power and a lot of wiggle room.

She said that the GOP's supporters would be unhappy if he didn't win. That's the best way to look at it. That isn't a threat at all. I believe that is reality.

If the Republicans win the congressional elections, McCarthy wants to take Pelosi's job. It's not clear if McCarthy has the support of the rest of the party to become Speaker, because of the skepticism he still faces from within the GOP's center-right ranks.

In August, Gaetz said that Jim Jordan could be McCarthy's replacement. The GOP should not tolerate a speaker that works with Democrats more than Republicans according to Lauren Boebert. Tucker Carlson called McCarthy a "puppet of the Democratic Party" in April.

In November, she said she didn't think McCarthy had the votes.

I can't respect leadership that doesn't hold people accountable and allows people like me, Paul Gosar, to be thrown under the bus at the first chance. "I'm really sick of it, I'm really sick of it, I'm really sick of it, I'm really sick of it, I'm really sick of it."

The stripped of their committee assignments was the reason for this. Gosar was punished for posting a violent video that showed him killing a democrat. Democrats accused her of endorsing violence against her colleagues and supporting right-wing conspiracy theories. At the time, she said that she was a "very regular American" who just "stumbled across" the Qanon conspiracy theory.

In March of this year, McCarthy promised to give both her and Gosar committee assignments again if the GOP regained control of the House.

McCarthy's representatives did not reply to Insider's request.
