Revyze is a French startup that is working on a mobile app for both mobile phones and tablets. Revyze looks similar to TikTok. It's focused on educational content for teens.

FlorentSciberras told me that they talked with a lot of different high school students. We wanted to know what they thought about school and how to learn. They said that no one had ever asked them those questions.

The answer was easy to understand. They said that they want to learn from their friends. They said that they are similar to us.

The #LearnOnTikTok is a huge hit on TikTok and is one of the reasons why educational videos are so popular.

Mainstream social platforms have issues. They aren't designed for education When you skip to the next video on TikTok, the social app might suggest something completely different. You end up jumping from one thing to another.

Revyze wants to be the TikTok of education, a community-powered app that focuses on high school education. Revyze wants to give education videos on TikTok the attention they deserve.

The Revyze team focused on the exam that you have to pass in high school in France. A quick version of the app was built, they put together a community to spread the word, and they shared a few videos on social media.

Revyze was downloaded 35,000 times in a few weeks. They were the second most popular free apps in the App Store.

More than a hundred business angels contributed to Revyze's $2 million pre-seed round.

The company wants to turn this small experiment into a big one. Guillaume Perrot told me that their goal is to have 500,000 users by the end of the year.

Building the community behind the app

What does Revyze think? The feed of videos you get when you open the app is similar to TikTok. You can skip to the next video with a simple gesture. There is a limit on how long a video can be.

The second tab allows you to explore the video library in more detail. You can choose from a variety of topics, including math or literature. Revyze started with high school students in France.

Revyze is paying attention to the videos that are uploaded to the app because they are educational. It takes a while for a video to be live on the platform.

The videos are watched by the community. We want it to be high-quality, accurate and not off- topic. A bit of machine learning will be added after the peer moderation system is in place.

When you post on Revyze, what do you get? A feeling of warmth. You accumulate reward points on Stack Overflow. There are reward points for education. When you post a video, you get 20 points, but if someone thanks you for the video, you only get one point.

Explaining a concept is the best way to find out if a teen understands it well. Some people want to be in the top tier.

If web3 is more than just a fad, Revyze could reward the community with a currency. That isn't the next thing on the plan.

Revyze will be expanding to more countries and educational systems. It is possible to personalize the app for each user.

Revyze wants to sort videos so that they are relevant to your level and way of learning, with an emphasis on learning outcomes. Users should use this method to find more relevant content.

"We aren't a social network." We want you to learn as much as you can in the app.
