During the month of November, Singapore Airlines is offering its latest "Spontaneous Escapes" discounts, which can be booked until October 31st. The last few offerings have been pretty mediocre, but there is finally an appealing option to take from NYC to Singapore. Availability is good for most of the month, and the flight is on sale for 56,700 each way.
There is a direct link to the offer.
A fifth freedom route is when a long haul carrier flies outside of its home network and uses airplane downtime between long haul routes.
The Long Haul A380 has lie-flat seats that are 25′′ wide and are oriented in a nifty 1-2-1 configuration that makes the window seats feel more private. During the recent 3Cards3Continents challenge, Nick and Stephen had a chance to sample Singapore's service and Catering, and they were very impressed with it.
The 56,700 miles fare is 30% off normal pricing and you have to book your seats directly with Singapore Airlines. KrisFlyer Miles can be generated by multiple transfer partners.

Outside of the dates, availability is very good. The middle of the month is eastbound.
The return flight is more available.
The taxes and fees are very reasonable.
Recent versions of the sale have been unremarkable, so it is great to finally see this route on Spontaneous Escapes. The flights between New York and Frankfurt for 36,400 miles one-way in premium economy are a good deal if you can't get a business class seat. Extra legroom and decent in-flight entertainment for a small premium over what most airlines charge in economy class is appealing for a daytime flight back to the US.
It's probably an ok deal to fly from JFK and Newark to Singapore in Premium Economy for 56.350 miles one way. It isn't something to write home about, but if you're looking to travel next month, it may be appealing.
