Dennis Schroder's best plays from last season (1:51)

Dennis is set to return to the Lakers on a one-year deal, and he has some of his best plays from the 2021-22 season to show for it. There is a time and a place for it.

The Los Angeles Lakers won't have a point guard for their opener against the Golden State Warriors, but that didn't stop Anthony Davis from planning a statement performance.

The first two games of the season are against the defending champ and the Clippers. A ring night is always a good time. We are going to start this season with a few wins.

Darvin Ham will not have a point guard in his rotation.

Dennis was going to have a thumb surgery on Monday and will be out of the lineup for a few weeks.

The visa issue that prevented him from traveling from Germany to Southern California with his family was resolved when he joined the Lakers. He played in one preseason game for L.A. and went 0-for-4 from the field with one turnover and one rebound.

The Warriors are going to have a hard time entering the game. He was hurt in the Lakers' preseason finale against the Kings and had to be helped off the field.

The team won't know if the veteran guard will be able to play against the Warriors until he is evaluated Tuesday, after he participated in the Lakers' noncontact practice Monday.

When he came off the bench against the Kings, it was not confirmed if he would come off again.

He made a couple plays for his teammates and I think he got off to a great start. The last look you get is when you have to leave the game. We'll continue to evaluate our roster and see what rotation works best for him.

Bryant is day to day with a thumb injury.

Davis, who missed three out of the Lakers' six preseason games, said he would have no restrictions for the Warriors game. He blamed the back pain on a team appearance at a casino 100 miles away from the Lakers' facility.

Davis said that they were sitting on the bus for a long time. The bus wasn't the same as what we usually drive. Sitting up, bunched up for a while, kind of affected it.

He hopes health will be on his team's side, unlike last season, when health was a problem.

What's the vision? James did not have a vision for this season. Since I've been here, health has been a big part of the club. Come in and be as healthy as possible and give us a chance to win.

Davis was expecting to see a lot more wins than L.A.

We want to return to where we belong. The last two seasons were not what the team had in mind. We know that it wasn't Lakers basketball. Our standard is not what it is. The last two seasons we have not competed for titles. Every man on the floor has motivation and hunger. We need to make sure that we get back to that level of basketball that we know we can play at.
