The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to bounce back from a non-playoff season, but they will have the chance to play spoiler before they play their part in the Western Conference.

The 2022-23 season begins with a road game against the Golden State Warriors and a home game against the L.A. Clippers. The Warriors are going to give out their rings before the game.

Anthony Davis said that their first two games are against title challengers. A ring night is always a good time. Our mindset is going up and we are going to start the season with a few wins.

The Lakers had a chance to win an 18th title last season.

They weren't good enough to make the play-in tournament, so they were the worst team in the league. The injury concerns for Davis and James didn't help, and the addition of Russell Westbrook didn't go as planned as he struggled to adjust.

Los Angeles has a storied history and the presence of stars such as James and Davis, but it will get more attention in 2022-23 because of last season's struggles.

It didn't make a lot of changes other than firing head coach Frank Vogel and bringing in Darvin Ham, as the core remains largely the same despite trade rumors surrounding Oklahoma City's star point guard.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Dennis Schrder will be out of action for 3-4 weeks because of a thumb injury.

The schedule doesn't get much more difficult than an opening road game against the Warriors.

One of the reasons for the team's decision to fine and not suspend Draymond Green was that opening night is ring night.

The Warriors will be operating with the entire Big Three of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green when they win the title.
