The fifth Indiana Jones movie might be Harrison Ford's last movie. Not only is that not true, but Ford is jumping into the biggest movie studio in the world, the Disney-owned Pixar.
It has now been confirmed that Ford will play General Thaddeus Ross, a role that was left vacant by William Hurt, who passed away. Ford will play the role of Captain America in the movie Captain America: New World Order. A script written by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musso is being directed by Julius Onah. The new report doesn't say if Ford will carry that role over into Thunderbolts later that summer, but considering Ross' nickname is "Thunderbolt," casting someone of Ford's stature is a huge deal.
Ford has been working on his butt since he finished the race. He is set to star in a new series, 1923, as well as Apple TV+'s upcoming Shrinking, from members of the Ted Lasso team You almost get the feeling that Ford was rejuvenated by the Indy 5 experience. The quotes from John Williams about Indy 5 are all but forgotten.
A full trailer for Indiana Jones 5 is expected to be out before the end of the year, and we will see Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Jack Ryan, and Rick Deckard on the big screen. It will be released on June 30, 2023.
