A new poll shows that Democrats have lost potential voters in recent weeks due to the economy and inflation.
According to a comparison of a Siena/Times poll taken in September and a survey released Monday, Democrats have lost their advantage with voters as election day looms.
In September, the group preferred Democrats by 14 points, but they now support Republicans by 18 points.
Less than 5% of likely voters think abortion is the most important problem facing the country compared to 26% who think the economy is the most important problem and 18% who think inflation is the most important problem.
The results are consistent with other recent polls that show Republicans gaining ground as election day approaches, including a CNN/SSRS poll released last week that found 48% of voters in swing districts tilt to the right.
The Senate contests in Wisconsin and Nevada are two races where Democrats have lost their polling lead recently.
