Scotland started their Men's T20 World Cup campaign by shocking two-time winners West Indies.

The Windies were skittled out for 118 in their Group B match, losing by 42 runs.

George Munsey opened Scotland's account with a 66 from 54 balls.

Ireland will play Zimbabwe in the other game of the group.

The captain of Scotland said it was a special win. A lot of work has been done to get us to this point.

I am proud of the boys for showing off their skills.

West Indies will need to win both of their remaining games to progress.

Scotland will likely qualify for the playoffs if they beat Ireland on Wednesday.

The Super 12s will take place in October and the top two sides from each group will make it. The winner of Group A will face England.

Scotland get it right, while Windies disappoint

Scotland scored 52 unanswered runs in 5.3 overs before a rain delay halted their progress.

Windies started poorly with the ball, giving too much width, but were much better after the break, banging the ball into the pitch.

Matthew Cross and Richard Berrington were the first to fall as both were flat-batted to mid-on.

Munsey clubbed three boundaries from the final over, having hit his previous one in the fourth over, as he continued his good work after the delay.

As Scotland dragged themselves up to a defendable, but potentially not match-winning, total, there were also powerful cameos from two of their players.

The Windies were terrible with the bat. It felt like it was shot or block and not able to change direction.

They struggled against the left-arm spin of Mark Watt and the off-spin of Michael Leask.

Brad Wheal was a part of the Hampshire team that won the T20 Blast.

Scotland were flawless in the field, including a superb catch from Leask, who ran in from the boundary to dismiss ShamarhBrooks.

The bowler were exceptional and we knew it was a competitive score. For a long time, the spinners have done it for us. It was an all-round great team performance.

Nicholas Pooran said that 161 was a score his side should have chased.

We need to win two games and be accountable.

Scotland have only played two T20s since last year's World Cup and the consistency of their skills is even more remarkable.

"There wasn't a huge amount of surprise that we won today, that's where we're at with our cricket." If we were invited into the game occasionally, it would be great to see where some of the associate nations could go.

They have more on wins in global events. The win over Bangladesh last year was special, but we probably played the better cricket from start to finish and deserved to win.
