The grand opening of Coulibri Ridge will take place on October 22nd after 20 years of planning.

The resort will be called sustainable. It claims to be self-sufficient by using renewable sources of energy. The resort's exterior is made from stone quarried from the property and the common areas and suites are made from recycled wood.

There will be two swimming pools, a gym, yoga pavilion, spa facilities for private treatments, complimentary internet and two dining rooms. The grounds have an 18th century estate ruins.

The suites at Coulibri have studios, lofts, and penthouses with private pools. They all have a terrace.

The rates begin at $700 per night. The minimum stay at the resort is four nights in order to plan out resources such as power and water.

Daniel Langlois, the creator of Coulibri, was inspired to build the resort by his interests in sustainable practices and eco friendly construction. Langlois and Marchand first visited Dominica in 1997 and the following year began designing and planning the renovation of a guest house and two guest cottages with the goal of building self-sustaining, eco friendly accommodations.

The project was close to opening five years ago, but Hurricane Maria devastated Soufriere.

The grand opening package at the resort is for seven nights and four dollars per night. There will be a deal from November to December. A 10% commission is offered by Coulibri.
