The Dallas Cowboys quarterback said that he will play in the game against the Detroit Lions.

According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, the quarterback said yes. My plan is that.

He had surgery on his thumb in Week 1 and has been out for a long time. The Cowboys didn't put him on injured reserve because he was given a recovery timetable of six to eight weeks.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network said it was "no sure thing" that the quarterback would return to practice the following week.

Cooper Rush has been the starter this season, leading the team to a 4-1 record as a starter while helping it stay in the race for the division title.

The Dallas Cowboys had not lost a game with Rush as the starter until Sunday, when the Philadelphia Eagles beat them. The loss puts the Cowboys in third place in the division.

In 16 games, he finished with 4,450 passing yards and 37 passing touchdown. The Cowboys had the best offense in the league.
