There was another weekend of headlines, golazos and unpredictable finishes. There was no shortage of drama from Real Madrid to Union Berlin.
The big things you need to know about the weekend are broken down by the correspondents
You can watch LaLiga, Bundesliga, MLS, more on the US version of the network.
The best goals, teams in trouble, and talking points are included.
Atleti move third in shadow of the Clasico
This weekend saw Real Madrid beat Barcelona to move to the top of LaLiga, and it was just how Diego Simeone liked it. Things are coming together in LaLiga despite the fact that it has been a difficult start to the season for Atleti.
The replay of Athletic Club's 0-1 loss to Atletico Madrid can be watched on TV.
They did not win at San Mames in over five years. They produced a performance in the image of some of the best Atlete sides throughout the years, though, digging in to repel Athletic's constant attacks and securing a win thanks to a goal fromAntoine Griezmann. Atleti moved past their hosts and into third place. They are just three points behind Barcelona, who had not lost before this weekend.
After scoring his 100th goal for Atleti, the French forward apologized for the way he left the club in order to join Barcelona.
He said he wanted to apologize for any damage he had done. I would like to apologize with effort on the pitch and nights like this.

Paris stay unbeaten after classic Classique
It wasn't the most tense Classique of all time, but the rivalry between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille felt a bit like old times. It was a top of the table clash, with a red card, chances on both sides, some big tackles, some great moves, and some outstanding performances individually, all staged in the beautiful grounds of the French capital.
There was only one winner and it was the same every time. The last 25 encounters between the two teams have only resulted in one win for Paris Saint-Germain. Even if l'OM caused them problems at times, the Parisians were the better team. Samuel Gigot was sent off for taking it too far.
The Classique is the most important game in the country and it was once again the King of Paris and France, as well as the King of France. The Brazilian scored the winning goal and set the stage for a reverse fixture at the end of February.

BVB bring gifts to Union, who remain top of Bundesliga
It's important to be a good guest when you're in someone's house; perhaps you bring a gift to dinner or a bottle of wine. In Union Berlin's case, they turned up at the top of the league and saw fit to hand the hosts the game's opening goal, which helped "the Iron Ones" on their way to the comfiest of 2-0 wins.
Is it necessary? Janik Haberer's two goals in the opening 21 minutes were enough to take all three points, despite the fact that they had over 75% possession. The first goal was a gift, as Kobel's boot got stuck in the turf when he tried to boot a backpass, and his slide left Haberer alone to tap home from six yards out. He thumped it through a crowd in the box from 25 yards to leave Kobel clutching air, where his first finish required a gentle touch.
Union Berlin are the Cinderella team this season across Europe's five leagues and show no signs of slowing down, they've already taken seven points from three games, but there's a long way to go. Tyler asked if they could do over the next 24 games what they have done so far.
Hislop was disappointed with the loss to Union Berlin.
Sunday a sign of the times
Football fans will always wear their club's colors with pride. It's important to be a "red" or a "blue" in good times.
The modern game has seen teams change their historic colors for no reason other than to justify the production of a change strip which has little or no connection to the club that wears it.
The table for the premier league.
It is why Manchester City wore a pale imitation of a strip from a German team, rather than their usual sky blue shirts.
The same reason applies to Manchester United choosing not to wear their traditional black-and-white stripes, but instead opting to play in their controversial white and green outfit, which just happen to be the colors of Saudi Arabia, which is why they chose not to wear their traditional black-and-
When they have worn their red and white shirts at Elland Road for a long time, how about they wear an all-black strip at the same time?
All three of the games mentioned are classic fixtures that have long been woven into the fabric of English football, but the images of Sunday's Premier League games will raise eyebrows in years to come with fans asking why on earth their team played in such garish kits that only serve to devalue the brands
Kyriakopoulos' unbelievable volley
After scoring one of the goals of the season, if not the goal of the season already, he can send as many kisses and hearts to his wife, to Greece or to whoever he wants through the camera.
The left-back's volley is one of the best volleys you will see all season. Marco Sportiello in the Atalanta goal didn't have time to react when Luca d'Andrea's cross went under the bar.
After taking the lead, they switched off and conceded three minutes later and just after the break, they lost 1-2. It's a shame to score a goal like that, but the ones who saw it will always remember it.

Tillman sends a message to Berhalter
After scoring two goals in 14 appearances for Rangers on a season-long loan from the German club in the summer, he will be looking to get back on the score sheet when they travel to Motherwell on Sunday.
With just over a month to go until the World Cup starts, the United States forward boosted his chances of a place in the squad by scoring a wonder goal as Rangers bounced back from the 7-1 humiliation against the Reds.
He had not scored a goal for his club or country in over a month, so he needed to do it quickly. He helped Rangers on their way to a win that moved them to within two points of Celtic.

Lindstrom lifts one as Eintracht thrash Leverkusen
Eintracht Frankfurt did everything they could to stop the "Xabi Alonso Is An amazing Manager Express" this weekend, as they chased down and eventually won the game. In the middle of that was the cheekiest of goals from Eintracht's Jesper Lindstrom.
The third goal of a game that never seemed close was scored by the Denmark international after a sloppy passage of play and he calmly chipping it beyond the bewildered Lukas Hradecky. Despite being the lightest finish, it was eye-catching and emphatic. Tyler wants more.
The Eintracht Frankfurt player scored with a chip to put his team in front.
Salah is back, baby!
After scoring the fastest hat trick in the history of the competition on Tuesday, Mohamed Salah confirmed his return to form by scoring the winning goal against Manchester City on Sunday.
After pouncing on a mistake by Joao Cancelo, Salah kept his cool to finish past Ederson, proving to the rest of the league that reigning champion Man City are beatable.

Hasenhuttl feeling the heat
After 10 games, Saints have earned just eight points and are in danger of being demoted to the Championship.
The Saints need to start taking advantage of their games at St Mary's if they want to get out of trouble. They took the lead against West Ham but were pegged back by Declan Rice in the second half, the second time in three games that they have dropped points from a winning position.
If the Saints lose to Bournemouth in their next game, it will only make the situation worse for the manager.
A sorry week for the Blaugrana
Barcelona's season has taken a turn for the worse in the last five days. They were beaten by Real Madrid in the Madrid derby on Sunday after a draw with Inter. You got the impression that Madrid could have played at a higher pace, but they didn't.
Real Madrid showed how far Barcelona have to go.
Pedri said that when the team concedes, they are easily bruised. You could see that against Madrid, as they were down 2-0 at the half. Huge improvements are needed in defence because there are more difficult games on the horizon. There are several clubs coming before the end of the month.
This is the first big challenge of the new coach. He could fall back on the excuse that it wasn't his team and that the process would take time. The club invested 150 million in the squad over the summer and now it is up to him to deliver.

Credit to O'Neil for Cherries resurgence
After Gary O'Neil took over as Bournemouth's interim manager on August 30, his team won two and drew four of their six games.
Less than two months after being thrashed 9-0 by the Reds, Bournemouth are sitting ninth in the league table after a 2-2 draw with the Cottagers.
There can be no doubt that the dressing room would back O'Neil's appointment after such a good run of results.
