Arthur Smith got his Atlanta Falcons back to.500 by beating the league's top run defense, and then the second-year head coach did what any offensive lineman would do.
The men were taken up front for beers.
Sort of. His still-in-uniform offensive linemen and his offensive line coach were served beers. There was a celebration in one of the sideline club suites at Mercedes-Benz Stadium after the Falcons defeated the 49ers.
Smith doesn't like to be asked about this particular team. Smith has repeated it many times. A gesture like this can go a long way because the locker room vibe has been genuine and real.

Smith and Ledford can be seen toasting themselves in the video while holding Bud Lights. Jake Matthews looked at the camera and said, "Yeah, baby."
Smith once again had a high level run game. In six games, Atlanta has rushed for at least 168 yards. The Falcons have the 3rd best rushing offense in the league even without their starter.
The team's offensive line is playing well and the 700 yards before first contact ranks second in the league. Smith, who played offensive line at North Carolina, has talked about wanting to be physical and have a group that can run the ball hard and with efficiency.
Against the top run defense, the Falcons did that. The 49ers ran for an average of 71.4 yards per game. Atlanta more than tripled it.
It was a lot of sense to drink after a game.
