Design

The tall, upright profile of the EQE SUV makes it look like a proper SUV. You have to use a measuring tape to see the differences between the two vehicles.

The most significant difference between the two SUVs is in length. There is a 2.1-inch shorter wheelbase for the EQE SUV. The EQS SUV has three rows, but the EQE SUV has two rows. The loss of the third row is not a big deal.

There is an expansive sloping dashboard designed to accommodate many screens and multicolor ambient lighting that should look pretty dramatic at night. leatherette upholstery is standard and Mercedes is now offering a vegan option.

There is a lot of room between the base price of the EQB and the starting price of the EQS SUV. Don't be surprised if the EQE SUV surpasses the price cap for the federal EV tax credit.

The Rivian R1S is one of the more rugged electric luxury SUVs on the market, with the Polestar 3 waiting in the wings. When it arrives in the U.S., the EQE SUV will be cheaper than the Model X.
