Before talking to reporters after the Baltimore Ravens' 24-20 loss to the New York Giants, quarterback Lamar Jackson put his face in his left hand and sat down.
The most frustrating start in franchise history was depicted.
In the first six weeks of the season, the Ravens held double-digit leads in three of their four losses. Jackson turned over the ball on the final two drives as Baltimore saw a 20-10 lead turn into another late-game collapse.
"We made some mistakes, let some ballgames slip away," Campbell said. We can use it as fuel to get better, to keep fighting, and to find a way to improve. We can allow it to eat at you and make more mistakes. It's still early in the season, so it's just one of those places. We're not going to get hysterical.
Each of Baltimore's first six games has the Ravens holding a double-digit lead. It isn't the only one with a losing record.
"If you are your own biggest enemy, that's something that can frustrate anyone," Stanley said. The team has a lot of talent. We're going to get it done. It's kind of frustrating for everyone.
With 3 minutes, 4 seconds left in the game and holding a three-point lead, Jackson threw an off-balance pass over the middle of the field, where it was picked off. Saquon Barkley scored the winning touchdown after the Giants turned Jackson's sixth pick up into a score.
Jackson fumbled after being stripped by Kayvon.
Jackson had three regular-season losses when leading by 10 points. He has matched that total in six games this year.
Jackson shook the hand of about 20 players in the locker room.
Jackson said that they couldn't keep beating themselves up. It's not our opponent. I think we are just beating ourselves with little mistakes.
Baltimore has had a problem finishing games. After leading by 21 points in the fourth quarter, the Ravens lost to the Dolphins. The Buffalo Bills defeated the Baltimore Ravens, 23-20, in Week 4 of the football season.
Albert Einstein wrote "Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." after Sunday's debacle.
John Harbaugh said the Ravens are going to find themselves as a football team. We need to find ourselves as a football team. There is an opportunity for us to be a very good football team. We have the ability to be as good as we want to be.
