Iowa GOP Sen. Chuck Grassley, who's seeking his eighth term in office, has a slim lead over Democratic challenger Mike Franken, poll says

According to the Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll, Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley has a narrow three-point lead over his opponent.

Four percent of respondents said they would vote for someone else, while another three percent said they were undecided in the survey.

The independents gave a 11 point lead to Franken.

According to the president of Selzer & Co., J. Ann Selzer, the race shows that the incumbent could be vulnerable as he has usually glided to reelection.

Selzer said that it shows that the campaign is running well and that the campaign has a chance to win.

The poll was conducted by Selzer & Co.
