The Nets announced on Sunday that guards Joe Harris andSeth Curry will not be ready for the season opener on Wednesday.

Curry had ankle surgery in the summer. He has been able to do some four-on-four work in practice, but is not ready to play. Harris had two ankle surgeries and played in only 14 games.

I am not worried. I'm happy. Nash said after Sunday's practice that he was optimistic. It's not easy for guys to come back to play after surgery. Straight up is not always the case. Some adaptation issues can happen. I think those guys are facing more than just the emergency lights. I think we're just a part of the process of getting back to it.

Both players had setbacks over the last couple of weeks. Harris said last week that while he was hoping to play in the opener, he has been told by his doctor that the foot pain he is experiencing is normal after having an ankle reconstruction.

Nash said that it's normal for guys to have small problems on their way back from surgery.

Curry may be behind Harris in terms of a return to the floor, but both players are making progress. An update on both players' status will be given by the Nets.

With Curry and Harris out, O' Neale is expected to start and get more minutes. He didn't care if he started or came off the bench after he was acquired.

O' Neale said that the guys were making it simpler for him. I try to make things simpler for them. They are creators, creating for others. Everyone reading off each other has been good.
