PITTSBURGH -- Making his first home start at Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett came through with his first touchdown pass of his career.
The drive ended with a 6-yard pass to Najee Harris. The offense scored a touchdown on the first drive of the season for the first time since Week 10 against the Detroit Lions a year ago.
Three straight completions to George Pickens, Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool was the start of the drive. The score was set up by a broken play on third-and-11 and a false start penalty. The running back converted on fourth down.
After taking over forMitch Trubisky at the half in Week 4 against the New York Jets, Pickett was making his second start.
The Giants have the longest active streak in the league at 13 games. The most points allowed on opening drives this season has been given up by the Buccaneers.
The home crowd was riled up early when they introduced Pickett for the first time and he scored six points.
