They've been busy testing a new space station module, conducting spacewalks and carrying out experiments, but they've also found time to take some amazing photos.

The photographs taken by the astronauts aboard the space station were released by the agency.

One of the station's flexible solar array can be seen against a backdrop of nighttime cities shining from Earth below, and another photo shows the airglow above our planet when sunlight interacts with atoms and Molecules in Earth's atmosphere.

A group of Chinese astronauts are busy in the first month of their stay at the space station.

The first woman in China to go to space snapped some pictures, including one of a full moon. The photos taken by Cai Xuzhe on his first trip to space include an image of Hainan island, just off the Chinese mainland, as well as a tomato plant growing on the station.

The image is the first of nine.

There are three crewed missions to Tiangong. Stunning images were returned by the astronauts.

A new visitor is expected to arrive later this month when the third and final module is launched. The T-shaped outpost will be completed by the module.

China's first-ever crew handover will take place in December, when the crew will stay in space until that time.
