I was more excited about the new software features in Hero 11 Black than I was about the post production video editing. The Hero 11 can shoot perfect star trail video with a single press of a button, which will blow your mind, if you've ever tried shooting star trails before. The ability to pull out a large amount of data still works well.

If you want to have fun with a flashlight, there's a Light Painting mode and Vehicle Light Trails mode.

In keeping with the idea of less work for the user, there are two modes in the GoPro: easy and pro. The interface of the camera is easy to use for those who don't want to wade into the details of the device. It's easy to switch to Pro if you're a pro or just used to it.

More control over auto highlights video is one of the nice features that isn't directly related to the Hero 11. You have to turn on auto uploading if you want to be a subscriber.

You will be able to put edits in your app once you do. It's been around for a while, but now it's possible to edit auto highlight video without having to download the source files to your phone. The high-res version of the proxy will be sent when you export or share it. Unfortunately, this feature was not available to test when I was writing this review, so I don't know if this will fix my main gripe with Quik.

The Hero 11 Black Mini, which is a smaller version of the Hero 11 Black, is being introduced alongside the new Hero 11. There is no way to frame the shot in many cases. It's possible to pair it with the app. That might sound odd, but for many of the core use cases of the company, the weight savings and streamlined form factor are more important than the screen. It's not possible to see a screen when it's on your head.

The Mini has something I like about it. The digital rangefinder was released by Leica. There is no way to look at your pictures. It was impractically expensive, but the message behind it was good. If you don't get the shot, stop checking. The Hero 11 Mini is similar to that ethos. It's not the kind of camera that requires you to sit at a distance and shoot a party in the middle of the night. Stick it in the corner and push the record.

The Hero 11 Mini was not tested by me. The Hero 11 Black is the best action camera for most people. Do you think the Hero 10 is worthUpgrading? If you need the extra space in your shots, that's up to you. The Hero 11 is worth the investment if you are constantly editing video to different formats.
