Even if the company loses money, it will still provide free satellite internet service to the government.
Musk wrote on the social networking site that it was the "hell with it". Even though Starlink is losing money, we will keep funding the Ukranian government.
CNN reported on Friday that the government was asked if it could pay for any additional internet services sent to Ukraine. By the end of 2022, these expenses could be around $124 million, and $380 million over the next year. Starlink can't fund services in Ukraine "indefinitely" according to Musk.
According to Musk, Starlink has sent about 25,000 terminals. The service has played an important role in keeping the Ukrainian military and civilians online during the war, as the country continues to suffer black outs from Russia's missile strikes, and the risk of cyberattacks remains high.
Musk was criticized after polling users on whether or not Ukraine should give up the annexed regions. The Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, Andrij Melnyk, replied by saying "fuck off is my very diplomatic reply." Ukrainian vice prime minister Mykhailo Fedorov later said that Musk is one of the world's top private donors supporting Ukranian.
