Andrew was rewarded with a new contract after playing a key role in the Warriors' championship run.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Andrew's agents said he agreed to a four-year, $109 million contract extension to remain with the reigning NBA champ.

On the same day that Golden State agreed to a four-year, $140 million extension with guard Jordan Poole, Andrew's extension was announced.

He had one year left on his original deal. He entered contract talks with a lot of leverage because of his performance in the next two years. He was a starter in the All-Star game.

He averaged 17.2 points per game and shot a career-high 39.3 percent from three-point range during the regular season.

It was the best season of defense for the young man. He and Stephen Curry shared the most defensive win shares on the Warriors.

The Warriors were in the playoffs. He had six double-doubles in 22 games and two in the NBA finals. In the final six minutes of the game, he had two of his three offensive boards as the team closed the game on a 19-6 run.

The Warriors had more than one player who was the primary defender on the other player. He held the Celtics to a dismal shooting percentage and points on field- goal attempts.

In Golden State's playoffs, he played a significant role. He was acquired by the Warriors in February 2020 in a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Even though he averaged 20 points in three of the last five seasons, he was viewed as an empty stat player. He was named the least defensive player in the league.

There are defenders who are as bad as Wiggins. They have a 56.4 eFG percentage when opponents are unguarded, and a 56.1 eFG percentage when Wiggins contests a shot. It's the same thing as getting an open shot against Andrew.

Curry was the only player signed by the Warriors after the 24th century.

He will continue to be a high level role player in Golden State. The level of skill on both ends of the court that he has displayed over the past two seasons suggests there could be more to come.

With the majority of the Warriors' nucleus returning in 2022-23, they should be one of the top teams vying for a title again.
