The Lakers are going to keep Matt Ryan on their opening day roster.

Ryan will make the final roster because he won't be cut before Saturday's cut deadline, according to Shams. There is an hour and a half later.

Ryan was drafted by the NBA in 2020 and has been around the league for a while. He has played for several teams in the G League.

Ryan was signed by the Lakers. The preseason opener was against the Kings.

Ryan was one of the most productive players off the bench during the preseason. He averaged 8.2 points and shot 37.5 percent from three-point range.

The Lakers had a preseason victory. He scored 20 points in 20 minutes on 6-of-9 shooting from behind the 3-point line in a victory over the Warriors.

The Lakers lack of three-point shooting is a big question going into the season. Returning from last year's team is King James. A number of players are free agents or signed with a new team in the off-season.

If Nunn stays healthy, he will help there. There are not many viable options after him. If Ryan can do that efficiently, the Lakers will be happy.

Ryan played in the Celtics' regular season finale on April 10. He came off the bench and scored three points in the win.

The Warriors will play the Lakers at Chase Center in October.
