Mark Gurman said in his Power On newsletter that Apple will announce new iPad Pro models in a few days.

The new 11-inch and 12.9-inch models will be the first update to the higher-end iPad since April 2021, where both models gained the M1 chip and a new mini-LED display. For their first update in a year and a half, the upcoming iPad Pro models are expected to gain the M2 Apple Silicon chip, which is said to offer faster performance and possibly new charging capabilities.

The new iPad will look the same as the current ones. There were rumors that the smaller 11-inch model would get a mini-LED display, but it's not expected to happen.

According to previous reports, the new iPad Pro models may have MagSafe charging capabilities. The new iPad Pro models could feature reverse-wireless charging, which would allow users to charge their phones on the back of the iPad

Apple won't be holding an event in October due to the update for the iPad. The new iPad is expected to be released through press releases and updates on the website.

The new iPad Pro models are expected to be released later this month. The iPadOS and iOS updates were not released at the same time. iPadOS 16 was delayed until later in the fall to give Apple more time to work on Stage Manager.
