The Golden State Warriors and guard Jordan Poole are close to a four-year contract extension, according to his agents.

According to Morrison and Brown, the sides are close to an agreement on the scale extension.

The deadline for players in the NBA draft class is Monday. It came after Draymond Green punched Poole during a recent practice session.

As one of the best young guards in the league, his extension represents a commitment to him as one of the Warriors cornerstone's for years to come. A significant offensive player for the defending NBA champion, the 28th overall pick in this year's draft, has developed into the player he is today.

He started 51 games for the Warriors last season and averaged career highs in points (18.5), assists (4.0) and rebound ( 3.4) before a spectacular run in the playoffs. He had the second-most in a single postseason behind Andrew Toney.

The first Warriors player 22 or younger to do that in a season since Monta Ellis in 2008 was Poole, who had 10 30-point games in his first two NBA seasons.

The NBA's free throw percentage was 94.5%.
