Jordan is cashing in on his success.

The Golden State Warriors will get a four-year, 140 million dollar extension from Poole, according to a report.

He was eligible for an extension for the first time this off-season, as he was heading into the final year of his contract.

During the preseason, the former Michigan star became the focus of some controversy after a practice altercation with Draymond Green.

While impressing Steve Kerr, Poole remained a key member of the organization.

Kerr told reporters that there was a reason he was in this position. He is just tough. He is mentally tough and physically tough.

Golden State decided to keep the young man under contract as he tries to build on his success.

During his first two years with Golden State, Poole was mostly off the bench, but last season he took a bigger role. He averaged 18 points, 4.0 assists and 3.4 rebound per game.

He was one of the most improved players in the NBA with a scoring jump of 6.5 points per game, and he led the league in free-throw conversion.

With Stephen Curry missing significant time with a foot injury and Klay Thompson working his way back to full strength after missing the previous two years, Poole became the Warriors' go to option down the stretch of the season and into the playoffs.

"You're talking a guy who was on the third team All-G League last year, has been our top option in this playoffs," Green said. He's gained the trust of everyone on the team, he's gained the trust of the coach, and he's gained fear from everyone else.

He came through with some of the biggest highlights of the NBA finals.

In the playoffs, he averaged 17 points per game while playing for the Warriors.

The Warriors have a dangerous collection of perimeter players and should be a threat to win another title.
