Sources confirmed that Lakers guard Dennis Schroder injured finger on right hand during Wednesday night’s game and will not play tonight at Sacramento. He will get MRI. Lakers then will talk to doctors to see if he can tape and play or if needs more time to heal

He played in L.A. in 2020-21 before returning to the Lakers. He signed a one-year contract with the Lakers.

The 29-year-old played for Houston and the Boston Celtics. He averaged 13 points and 4.5 assists.

Schrder has been in the NBA for 10 years. He is expected to form a backcourt rotation that will feature some of the best players in the world.

Without Schrder, L.A. may be short-handed. The Lakers will play their first regular-season game on Tuesday against the Warriors.
