The man who was injured in an alleged felony battery by the New Orleans Saints running back and three other men has filed a civil lawsuit against him.
A lawsuit was filed in Orleans Parish by a man who claims that he was stomped on by a group of men in Las Vegas before the Pro Bowl. It is alleged that after he had fallen to the ground, Kamara bragged about the assault to a friend.
The lawsuit asks for $10 million in damages. $5 million in actual damages and $5 million in exemplary damages is what it seeks.
According to the lawsuit, he sustained injuries to his neck, back, head, shoulders, knees and face. It says medical testing confirmed a disfiguring facial fractured to his right orbital bone, blunt force trauma to his head, multiple disc bulges, and structural tears in his shoulder.
According to the lawsuit, he had to go to the hospital because of his injuries and will need a lot of surgeries.
The charges of conspiracy to commit battery and battery resulting in substantial bodily harm are felonies. His next court appearance is scheduled for November 9.
The lawsuit accuses the league of not doing enough to punish the player who faces criminal charges. However, these proceedings have been put on hold so that Kamara can play an entire season for the Saints.
Roger Goodell has not fully investigated the incident at hand and is waiting for the criminal proceedings to play out before issuing a suspension. It is believed that the security footage of the assault has been seen by the commissioner, but he is not taking action. The Commissioner, the authorities, and the man himself should not be allowed to whitewash this matter.
Tony Buzbee's firm was involved in multiple cases of sexual assault and sexual harassment of women while they were receiving massage. The attorney from Louisiana is also working on the case.
