Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Texas Rangers have interviewed Bruce Bochy for their managerial position.
Chris Young, the general manager of the Rangers, met with Bruce Bochy, a former manager of the Giants and Padres.
Tony was interviewed for the full-time job by the Rangers.
The Rangers finished the year with a 17-31 record under the management of Beasley. Young told reporters earlier this month that he wasn't going to be judged just on his record in a short period of time.
He took over a difficult situation. We acknowledged that Tony was the right person to help us reestablish some things that we were missing when we moved. He did well in those areas.
Bochy has more experience than the other candidates.
From 1995 to 2006 he was the Padres' manager. He won the Manager of the Year award in 1996, won four NL West titles and led the Friars to the National League pennant in 1998, but they went on to lose in the World Series.
In 2007, Bochy left the Padres to take the helm of the Giants, and he retired in 2019. In 13 seasons in San Francisco, he led the Giants to two division titles and three World Series victories.

Team France will be led by Bochy in the World Baseball Classic. France did not make it to the World Baseball Classic.
The Rangers will hope that he can lead them back to the playoffs for the first time in two years. Since then, Texas has not had a winning record.
There will be some competition. New managers are needed for the Toronto BlueJays, Miami Marlins, Kansas City Royals and Chicago WhiteSox. The White Sox have been linked to a number of different people.
