When the new lock screens of the OS were released last month, they weren't ready yet. The company just released the last of its promisedwidgets, which includes a search for nearby coffee shops. This is the most useful lock screenwidget we can find.
There are a lot of newWidgets on offer before we even get to that. You can quickly answer life's burning questions, like "what kind of plant did I just buy?" with the help of a Google Lens shortcut, and you can see what's in store for your workday with a GmailWidget. I recently learned that I am terrible at the cute little dino game, and there is a way to get around it.

I no longer have to open an app and typeCOFFEE into a search bar in order to find a coffee shop near me. Every second is important when you are in a new area.

If you want to try it out, you need to download the latest update of the Maps app and launch it once before you add the new feature. If you tap the "Search" option, you will be able to add the new Mapswidget to your screen. You can choose from gas, restaurants, parks, and electric vehicle charging if you double tap the icon. You know which one I chose.
