Two other people, both of whom speak English, were also charged with drug related violations. She was supposed to sleep in a bed that was too small for her height and weight. The American needed a bigger bed, according to a visiting journalist.
On a daily basis, there are other uncomfortable things. She and other inmates are only allowed to shower twice a week. During the Russian reporter's visit to her cell, she disclosed that she was suffering from headaches.
The lawyer said that the temperature inside the colony varies dramatically depending on the weather. He said that the Mercury great is only allowed to be outside for an hour each day.
